How It Works.

From first contact through final recording, RegionSide helps make the adjoining property acquisition process clear, organized, and easier to navigate.

Checklist and interlocking gears representing how the RegionSide process works

When a Clearer Path Emerges.

You may have noticed the vacant lot next door for years—or even asked about it before—without finding a clear path forward. It was not that the opportunity was overlooked; state and local government requirements had not yet been met. RegionSide follows those changes and reaches out when a neighboring property may be ready to explore.

Identify

We monitor, review, and analyze state and local property records to identify when neighboring vacant properties may become available.

Recognize

When property history, timing, and municipal requirements begin to align, a long-overlooked parcel may present a potential path forward.

Notify

We contact adjoining property owners so they can learn about the potential opportunity and decide whether they want to explore it.

Why You Were Contacted

Your property may put you in a unique position. If RegionSide contacted you, a neighboring property has been identified as having strong potential for an adjoining landowner acquisition program.

Your relationship to that property may place you among the property owners who can pursue the opportunity. Our outreach is intended to make you aware of that potential opportunity and give you the opportunity to determine whether you'd like to take the next step toward confirming eligibility.

One Property, Multiple Adjoining Landowners.

Your notification does not necessarily mean you are the only adjoining property owner who may qualify. A vacant property can border multiple parcels, and other adjoining owners may also be notified of the potential opportunity.

Because only one adjoining landowner can ultimately acquire the property, timing can matter. Where the applicable program operates on a first-come, first-served basis, the first qualified adjoining owner to successfully move forward may have the opportunity to purchase it.

If you're interested, we encourage you to begin the eligibility process promptly.
